LaLa & Carmelo's Wedding Is Set For This Summer!

LaLa Vasquez just announced that she and her NBA baller fiance Carmelo Anthony are getting married this summer. Yes, 2010. They were looking at wedding venues earlier this week with famed wedding planner Mindy Weiss (who did Eva Longoria, Heidi Klum, and Gwen Stephanie’s weddings).

It's about time they have been engaged for like 5 years I was starting to think he wasn't going to marry her! Congrats!

Keyshia Cole Engaged!

MediaTakeOut is reporting that Keyshia Cole and Boobie Gibson are getting married. According to the GOSSIP site:

According to our very credible source, Keyshia was staying a Daniel's family home in Houston for New Years. And shortly after the clock struck 12:00 for the new year, Daniel got down on one knee, and gave Keyshia a 10 carat FLAWLESS diamond engagement ring (retail value is about 800 STACKS).

MediaTakeOut.com's insider claims that Keyshia was taken by surprise by everything. She immediately said YES and broke down and started crying tears of joy.

The insider explained, "Keyshia loves Daniel, and know she wants to be married - but she didn’t want to pressure him. I'm so happy for both of them, they're perfect for each other."

Updated: Keyshia's BFF Monica, congragulated the happy couple..so this confirms that they are engaged!

Young Dro Is Engaged!

So if you didn't know who Young Dro is, he is a rapper who is also apart of Grand Hustle which is T.I's label. I guess T.I wont be the only one walking down the aisle in 2010! According to Freddy O, Young Dro is engaged to some female named Teresa and is ready to walk down the aisle NOW!

42% of Black Women Have Never Been Married!

According to national statistics, 42 percent of black women have never been married, compared to 21 percent of white woman.

ABC News-Why 42% of Black Women Never been married! "There are 1.8 million more black women than black men. Take the available black men, eliminate those without a high school diploma, those without a job and the number of black men between the ages of 25-34 that are incarcerated that leaves only half of those black men that’s eligible to pop the question."




Here is a list of why I think 42% of black women have never been married!(1) the incarceration rate for black men is higher than men of other races, (2) the increase in black men dating and marrying outside of their race, (3) black men on the “down low” (living secret lives having sex with other men while pretending to be homosexual), (4) black women are “more independent” and don’t need a man to take care of them.

Question is: what can the average black woman do about it? What do you think?
